Vyapam Scam as a Movie

The Vyapam scam is an admission and recruitment scam involving politicians, senior officials and businessmen in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB), popularly known by its Hindi acronym “Vyapam” (Vyavsayik Pariksha Mandal), is a government body responsible for conducting several entrance tests in the state. These entrance exams are used for recruitment to Goverment Jobs and for admissions to educational institutes in the state. The scam involved a collusion of undeserving candidates, who bribed politicians and MPPEB officials through middlemen, to get high ranks in these entrance tests.

“At this stage I won’t commit on making a film on it as I normally work on a script on a subject for four to five years before making a film,” he added. The scam has become high-profile after a number of people related to the scam, died under “mysterious circumstances” with the opposition and activists putting the number at 45.

“People should know about this issue and the country should have a debate on it (Vyapam scam),” Jha said.
