In his speech, he stated that his power and vocabulary is not enough to describe the greatness of Seetharama Sastry garu, life time best lyric writer award winner. So speaking about his greatness is simply like that of a man who doesn’t know the swimming got struck up in the middle of the ocean.

“Vidatha Talapuna” song from the film “Sirivennela” written by seetharama sastry gaaru made him the most honourable writer for his works in such a way that the title of the movie sirivennela got tagged to his name.
He is well known as “Sirivennela seetha rama sastry” for his adorable work in the telugu film industry as a top most lyricist after the legendary writers Sri Sri, Aathreya, C Narayana Reddy and Dr Veturi sundara rama murthy.
He had written more than 3000 songs and most of them gave him a good reputation.
Whether it may be an inspirational song or an emotional song or a love song or a duet, he has his own style of writing which made him as a versatile writer.

So here are some facts most of us had not known about Sirivennela garu.

  • His actual name was Chembolu Seetharama Sastry. He was born in 1955 in a place called Shivoni which is located in Madhya Pradesh. His native place is Anakapally, a town in Vishakapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh. He studied there till his matriculation.
  • He was very poor student in English in his school. But he was brilliant at Telugu.
  • He used to bunk the classes and would go to movie along with a master of the school.
  • He was involved in RSS(Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh) at the age of 11. He used to write and sing patriotic songs during the meetings of RSS.
  • He got the seat in MBBS. But he discontinued due to the financial status.
  • He joined as a clerk in P&T with an initial salary of Rs300/month and used teach students during night. At that time his age was just 19. He got married when he was at the age of 21. At that time, his wife age was 15
  • Later, upon by the force of his uncle, he completed his graduation from open university in a due course of 7 years.
  • He had written a song on the telephone when he was working in P&T on the request of his boss. The song starts like this “ Dhoora shravana yanthram…Dhooraanni teega tho kattipadesina sammohana mantram
  • He wrote a song titled “Gangadharam” with his pen name as “Bharani” for the success meet of K.Vishawanath`s shankarabharanam conducted at Kakinada.
  • K.Vishawanath got impressed by listening to that song and he kept that song in his movie “ Janani janmaboomischa.” It was the debut movie of Seetharama Sastry. Dr Veturi penned other songs for that movie.
  • Initially, his works were not accepted. Later it got recognised and he was the single card lyric writer for the film sirivennela.
  • He started his career as lyric writer when he was at the age of 30.
  • He lost some offers during his career beginning as he was not perfect in writing duet songs. Later he learnt a lot and became an inspiration for most of the upcoming lyric writers.
  • He wrote a song called “botany paatamundi” from Ram gopal varma`s Shiva in conversational lannguage. This song was totally different from his previous songs.
  • His sister`s daughter was married to the one of top director of tollywood Trivikram Srinias.
  • He adopted director “Krishnavamshi” as his son. Krishnavamshi had written story for the film Chakram to keep “jagamantha kutumbam” song in that movie.
  • He is a brand ambassador of Subhagruha, a real estate firm.
  • He is a winner of the Bronzed Llama for which he is noted for in his home town of Anakapally.
  • He wrote title song for a popular telugu comedy serial “Amrutham“.
