‘Srimanthudu’ to Clash with ‘Baahubali’

Koratala Shiva “Mirchi” director has rolled a rumor that he has postponed the release of Srimanthudu in order to avoid its clash with Rajamouli’s Baahubali. Srimanthudu is one of the most talked and highly awaited Tollywood movies of 2015 which was earlier slated to hit theaters on July 17 will now be releasing 2 days after Mahesh Babu‘s birthday that is on August 07.

Meanwhile, during an audio launch, the ” Baahubali ” team revealed that the epic period drama will hit the screens on 10th July, a week before the release of the Mahesh Babu  film. The rumors were rife on social media that the makers had decided to delay the release of “Srimanthudu” by a couple of weeks as they did not want their film to lock horns with big-budget movie like “Baahubali” and suffer severe setback at the worldwide Box Office .

However, director Koratala Siva, upset over these false rumors, spoke to the media and cleared the release date of “Srimanthudu”. He said that, “the team has completed the shooting along with the patch work. The music album of Srimanthudu will be released tomorrow, i.e., July 18, 2015.”

Also, “Srimanthudu” has been made on budget of around ₹50 crore, while the budget of “Baahubali” is ₹200 crore. Both the films are much-hyped and highly anticipated. Considering Srimanthudu is likely to release within a gap of just a month, they are sure to eat into each other’s business, say trade analysts in film nagar.

Srimanthudu, which is directed by Koratala Siva, Mahesh Babu is portraying the role of a millionaire’s son. The film stars actress Shruti Haasan essaying the female lead. Produced by Y. Naveen, Y. Ravi Shankar and CV Mohan, the film also stars actors Jagapati Babu, Sukanya, Rajendra Prasad, Aamani, Angana Roy, Sanam Shetty and Sampath Raj in important roles.
