Going by the amazing response to its recently launched 4G services, Reliance Jio may further extend its popular free Welcome Offer. Reliance JIO crossed 24 million customers by September 30. Customers are quite happy with the news of extending free Voice calls until March 2017, here is a sad news at the same time.
Reliance Jio network set a new world record by reaching 16 million users in less than a month. However, Reliance Jio users are facing problems with the drop in 4G speeds. The reason behind the speed slump is due to the ever growing users on the JIO network.
Reliance JIO Speed Test:
Recently, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s (TRAI) had launched a speed test app for Android and iOS to check the speeds of telecom service provider of India. According to TRAI, the Jio 4G network is providing the slowest download speeds in the country among the top 5 telecom operators including Airtel, Vodafone, Idea, Reliance etc. The average 4G download speed by Reliance Jio was noted down to be 6.2Mbps only.
But JIO disagreed with the TRAI statement. Reliance JIO management claiming that the data speed was being calculated after the consumers exhausted the daily fair use policy of 4GB data download. Once a user has used up 4GB data in a day, the speed falls to 256 kbps. TRAI is concentrating on the data speed after reaching 4GB.
The Jio 4G network is witnessing 16,000TB data consumption on a daily basis. As per TRAI, Airtel is offering the best mobile internet speed at 11.4Mbps, followed by Reliance, Idea, and Vodafone at 7.9Mbps, 7.6Mbps and 7.3Mbps, respectively.
Reliance JIO announced that customer density is more in Gujarat and Telangana States. However the biggest metro cities in India, Delhi and Mumbai are in the last place in using JIO network.
