Rejected Stalker Murdered Two Sisters in Hyderabad


After continuous rejection of love, a stalker turned Psychopath and stabbed the girl who rejected his love along with her elder sister to death at Kothapet on Tuesday. The two sisters succumbed to their injuries after they were rushed to a local hospital, while the attacker escaped from the place when police tried to catch him. Police said that Amit was an friend of Srilekha and he had chased her earlier.

Amit singh (21) reached the Sri Lekha’s home at commercial Tax Colony after her parents left for work. The incident took place at 8.45 a.m.The victims, Singireddy Yamini Saraswati  (22) and Singireddy Sree Lekha (21) received 17 and 10 stabs respectively in the brutal attack. “Amit entered their house with a sharp weapon and tried to attack Srilekha. When Yamini tried to stop him, he stabbed several times in her stomach, and then attacked Srilekha,” said LB Nagar DCP Mr Tafseer Iqubal.

Drastic Incident in Hyderabad

Although she had stabbed for 14 times, Yamini escaped from Amit’s clutches and ran out of the house. She climbed the stairs to alert her neighbors, who live on the first floor. “When we came out, Yamini was about to collapse and she was heavily bleeding. By the time we reached downstairs, Srilekha had collapsed inside the house,” their neighbor Mr Ranjith Kumar told the police. Meanwhile, Amit fled from the spot leaving behind his slipper and the knife, before the neighbors could catch him. The neighbors then alerted the police and took the victims to a local hospital, where both of them succumbed to their injuries. Srilekha had been stabbed 10 times. There were bloodstains all over the house, stairs and on the bed.

Statement of Srilekha’s Classmate:

According to a classmate of Srilekha, Amit and Srilekha had studied together when they were pursuing intermediate in Shadnagar. “He used to follow her when her family was living in Shadnagar one year ago, and he had threatened her too,” she said.

Though Srilekha’s parents were aware about the stalker, they had not approached the police after moving to
Hyderabad . Chaitanyapuri police inspector G. Naveen Kumar said that Amit had troubled her when she was in Shadnagar. “We are verifying with the Shadnagar police regarding the issue. After the family came to the city, they have not lodged any complaints about stalking,” he said. Police have formed five teams to nab Amit, and a case for murder has been booked under IPC section 302.

Victim’s Parents Aware of the Accused:

The victims’ mother Hymavathi, a senior assistant at Rajiv Vidya Mission in Shadnagar, told police that Amit Singh has been stalking her daughter for over two years and that she has already complained to the parents of accused about the same. The victims’ father Krishna Reddy is an RTC bus conductor in Chevalla.

Her eldest daughter Yamini was supposed to get married to an IT professional on October 31, and the family was preparing for the function. “Her engagement took place on May 31 and the wedding date was fixed. The family had already started preparing for the wedding,” said Mr T. Nagavardhan, a relative of the family. After finishing her B.Tech, Yamini had been attending coaching at a private institute for bank exams.

Meanwhile Srilekha, who was pursuing her Final Year B.Tech at Sagar Institute of Technology at Chevella, was planning to get a job at an MNC after finishing her studies. The family had moved to Hyderabad from Shadnagar for the girls’ education and jobs.

Dubious Rumors on the Case

According to one version, Amit Singh and Sree Lekha got married last year and that the couple visited his native place in Bihar. But her parents brought her back. A lot of pressure was put on her by parents who cited the plight of her unmarried elder sister. She is learnt to have decided to wait until the elder sister’s marriage and did not visit him. She was ignoring him for her family. However, Police sources have neither confirmed nor denied this.

Police are searching for the victim with five special teams and one team was sent to Bihar which was the native place of the victim.
