Indian hockey team won Asian Champions Trophy beating Pakistan 3-2 in the finals. India won the finals for second time in the final of the fourth Asian Champions and dedicated the Asian Championship Trophy triumph to the Indian soldiers martyred in the Uri attack and their families.
But the angry Indian hockey team goalkeeper cum captain PR Sreejesh encountered with a weird incident with Air Asia airlines. The airlines penalized him for excess baggage which included his sports equipment as he was returning after winning. It is learned that Sreejesh was fined Rs. 1500 for carrying ‘sports equipment’ that was termed as excess baggage.
Sreejesh took Twitter to express his disappointment.
“Extra charges for the sports equipment bag which come below 15 kg?? Are they expecting me to carry makeup kit ??.. funny concept @Air Asia,” Sreejesh tweeted posting a screenshot of the penalty receipt.

Air Asia has informed Sreejesh that their team will get in touch with him but so far no updates seem to have appeared in the matter.
@16Sreejesh we have notified our team to get in touch with you at the earliest. Thank you!

PR Sreejesh, sports kit is expected to be heavier than his teammates as goalkeepers have heavy protective gears which include upper body protection, thick pads, gloves and a helmet, unlike outfield players who need to carry their hockey sticks.
