Veteran actress and BJP MP Hema Malini met with a road accident near Dausa in Rajasthan late on Thursday evening at around 9pm. According to reports, the actress was on her way to Jaipur when her Mercedez collided with a Maruti Alto. Hema, who was going from Mathura to Jaipur, was rushed to Fortis Hospital in Jaipur with head injuries. Her driver has also sustained leg injuries in the accident. He was been arrested for rash driving.
Four persons, including two women who were in the other car were also injured severely and have been admitted to a hospital in Dausa. Doctors at the Fortis hospital said Hema has suffered injuries on the forehead and a CT scan and other tests were being conducted. And a two-year-old girl identified as Sonam, who was in the Alto, was killed. One eyewitness who took Hema Malini to Jaipur in his car said she told him to drive fast as she was under great pain.
She was bleeding on the forehead, above the eyebrow on the right side. “She has been hurt on the back, on her legs and on the forehead. Doctors checked her for internal injuries.” Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje tweeted about the incident that, “Deeply saddened by the news of Dausa accident. I pray for the victims. We are making all efforts to provide immediate relief & medical care to the victims.”
