According to the reports, Gunnavaram Airport in Vijayawada is going to be extended. For this, they need land and the farmers are also ready for giving their lands to the government. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu said that they will be given special package who are giving the lands. On June 2nd, Andhra Pradesh CM inaugurated new terminal for making the airport to develop. Later CM met the Indian Airport Authority on this context.
Regarding the farmer land problems, CM gave the authority to Gunnavaram MLA Vallabaneni Vamsimohan, ZPP former chairmen Kadiyala Raghavarao, Machilipatnam MP Konakalla Narayana and Water resources minister Devineni Uma. Reports said that until now, 118 acres of land was collected from the farmers. But few farmers are demanding for some other packages for giving their land and they went to CM regarding.
For extending the Airport, they need 460 acres of land. Regional MLA said that the costs for the lands are very high and the farmers are also asking the same price. Even former ZPP chairmen also said the same to CM. If their demands are OK to the government, they are ready to give their lands. Hence CM said that the demand for 1450 acres of land is been accepted and that is handed over to Collector.
Even the land for Polavaram left canal extension also is been a problem for the officials. Hence CM said the authorities to release the funds quickly. In the same way, land for the inner ring road near Ramavarappadu village is also creating few problems. Hence CM said Collector to look after the problems.
